TEZUKAYAMA GALLERY is pleased to announce a solo exhibition “Point of Contact #7,” by Tamura Satoru.
In series such as ‘Machine,’ in which chains continuously rotate at a constant speed while forming symbolic letters and signs, ‘Spin Crocodile,’ in which polyurethane model crocodiles of various sizes rotate at high speed, and ‘Point of Contact,’ in which incandescent lamps blink repeatedly due to obvious and exaggerated switches, Tamura Satoru presents kinetic art that takes as its motif machines which consistently resist usefulness or functionality.
In this exhibition we are planning to show the large-scale work ‘Point of Contact,’ which can be said to be Tamura’s most important work, and won the grand prize at the ‘International Light Art Award 2017’ held in Germany.
We invite you to come and visit this time.
