Junko Kido

Born in Toyama Prefecture in 1976. Graduated as a research student from the Western Painting Course of the Department of Fine Arts at Seian University of Art and Design in 2000. The installation works are conceived based on a process of repeated dialogue with space through the body, aiming to decipher its sense of place. Presented as “works that exist only in that place,” they seek to evoke deeply personal experiences through the perception of the viewer, by generating random encounters between the viewer and the space, leveraging the passage of time and the inherent power of the location.

Tomoko Sakumoto

Born in Okayama in 1978.  Making sculptures by using ceramic as a material.  Finished her master’s degree at Okayama Prefectural University. She is now a lecturer at Okayama Prefectural University’s Design department.

Sakumoto’s work is not made for usage but the pure sculptures produced from a process of searching for a unique expression.  Unique colored stripes and beautiful forms are being born in a very original virtuosity of ceramic making which is hardly imagined from the first impression of her works.  Constructed with very simple elements which have tense, beauty, and high originality.

Born in Mie Prefecture in 1997. Graduated from the master course at Kyoto University of the Arts in 2022.
The shadow under the sun, sounds of woods in the wind, temperature in sensation, and odor of air.
By saving the trifles and routines in everyday life in drawings and photos and by substituting them for silkscreen and painting, “instants” are captured on screen. The work has a feel of floating like a daydream, sophisticated lines, and soft colors.

Born in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, in 1987. Graduated from the Master’s Program in Sculpture at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2020. Based in Japan and Korea, the artist explores the theme of everyday life and mundane moments that can suddenly be lost due to disasters or accidents. Through three-dimensional and two-dimensional works, which involve embroidering black threads on white soft cloth to record everyday landscapes, the artist creates spaces that prompt a reconsideration of what constitutes everyday life.
