KEITH HARING COLLECTION EXHIBITION
TUES 09 SEPT – FRI 27 SEPT 2013
Tezukayama Gallery is pleased to announce our collection exhibition “The Blueprint Drawings by Keith Haring” from 9th - 27th September at Tezukayama Gallery. The original Blueprint Drawings were created in the early 1980s, when he started doing graffiti in the New York subways. This work was his first solo exhibition in New York City. Haring created these drawings on vellum using Sumi-ink because he intended to make blueprint copies of each of the drawings. He described the works as a “perfect time capsule of my beginning in New York City”. Keith Haring died in 1990, aged 31. In the year of his death he revisited the original Blueprint Drawings to create these silkscreen prints. This work perfectly captures the unique style of Keith Haring’s now iconic images.
